Pragolod 13
surfactant –based degraesing agent with passivating effect

Pragolod 13
surfactant –based degraesing agent with passivating effect

Pragolod 13 is a liquid, highly efficient alkaline surfactant degreaser of a high passivating capability suitable for cleaning of steel, cast iron, glass and ceramic ware. The agent contains adsorption corrosion inhibitors which may impart both inter-operation as well as temporary corrosion protection to the steel parts to be degreased.

The agent is appropriate for the inter-operation degreasing and for machine cleaning, e.g. in the WAP devices or in cleaning desks in the machine repair shops. It may be even used at lower application temperatures and, therefore, as an alternative to solvent degreasers including chlorinated ones at hand-assisted and machine cleaning.

Pragolod 14
liquid alkaline degreasing and tumbling agent of low foamability and with passivating effect

Pragolod 14
liquid alkaline degreasing and tumbling agent of low foamability and with passivating effect

Pragolod 14 is particularly suitable for the degreasing and cleaning of the steel and cast iron substrates between two subsequent technological operations and should be applied by spraying. It contains low-foaming surfactants and, hence, is convenient to be especially used for machinery cleaning, e.g. in the WAP spraying machines or in cleaning desks in the shops. Furthermore, it may be alternatively applied for cleaning at lower temperatures and, therefore, for both machinery as well as hand-assisted cleaning operations as a replacement for solvent-based degreasers including chlorine hydrocarbons. To boost the anticorrosion protection affect of the agent, its elevated concentration within 3 – 5% and drying without a preliminary rinse should be employed. Pragolod 14 is a liquid alkaline agent for combined technological operations degreasing together with surface passivation and is formulated on the basis of both low-foaming surfactants of high biodegradability and corrosion inhibitors. It should be particularly used for both spraying and immersion degreasing of steel and cast iron substrates and tumbling of ferrous metals. Besides, it may be used for passivation of ferrous metals after pickling or other technological operations in water – based agents if an active steel surface is needed to be pasivated. Pragolod 14 is completely free of any inorganic components which otherwise might cause salt deposits on the cleaned but still unrinsed surface. It is also applicable for the passivation of the ferrous surfaces after other degreasing operations, pickling in acids or tumbling operations of steel parts together with the passivation. At the agent formulation, both low foaming and passivating efficiency were emphasized and, therefore, compared with the similar agents of, however, enhanced foamability such as Pragolod Grato 12, Pragolod 13 or Pragolod 44, displays a slightly inferior degreasing performance. Pragolod 14 is a clear colourless or yellowish alkaline liquid (pH value within 10 – 11) completely miscible with water, the clouding point of the 5% bath being about 33 – 38°C and the pH value about 10.

Pragolod 16
liquid degreasing and washing agent

Pragolod 16 is a liquid weakly alkaline water-based degreasing and washing agent containig blend of highly effective surfactants, phosphates, water softeners and and corrosion inhibitors for cleaning steel and cast iron parts from the hygrophobic soils such as conservation oils, waxes, greasing emulsions, pastes etc.

It is suitable for the degreasing operations in industry and should be applied by ultrasonic-assisted immersion, or spray in the degreasing lines and machines as well as at the deconservation operations by mobile pressure cleaning machines such as Wap, Karcher etc. To be further used for the degreasing of both final parts and semi-products, mobile machines and other technological equipments of industrial plants. The special additives contained prevent undesirable leaching of cobalt from the cleaned parts made of sintered carbides and tool steels. The typical feature of the agent is its deemulgation activity which results in rapid separation of the released oils and soil on the degreasing bath surface. Capable to remove the solid particles of graphite and carbides from the surface cleaned.

liquid low-foaming degreaser with a mild passivating effect

Pragolod 44 is a liquid degreaser suitable for cleaning and degreasing of steel, cast iron and, to a limited extent, of aluminium and its alloys. It is in general applicable for cleaning of painted surfaces as well but, with regard to the variability of the paints types, a test for paint durability in contact with the degreaser should be carried out at first. The agent contains components which may impart both corrosion protection at the following machinery operations as well as temporary corrosion protection to the steel parts to be degreased. As far as the subsequent surface treatment operation allows, the overall passivating effect of the degreaser may be even enhanced by its incorporation into the final rinse until the approximate pH value 10 of the rinse is reached. The agent is a liquid of yellowish-to-brownish colour, classified as irritant with respect to the valid legislation, and containing a blend of both inorganic as well as organic components and non-ionic surfactants of good biodegradability. The surfactants contained are of high performance and low foamability so that could be conveniently used for the applications by immersion, spraying, high-pressure and ultrasonic-assisted degreasing.

Pragolod 33
degreaser for removal of both grinding as well as polishing pastes and flash rust

The degreaser Pragolod 33, in combination with surfactant component Pragolod DT 33, is a very efficient and nearly of neutral pH value degreasing bath suitable for removal of the residues of both grinding and polishing pastes from copper an its alloys, austenitic steel, ceramic and, with a constraint, aluminium and its alloys, steel and galvanized steel which, however, might be etched mildly at the process. The pH value of the bath varies within 7 – 8 which makes full use of the agent particularly for cleaning of polished brass parts. The agent is suitable for the degreasing operations accomplished by immersion or ultrasonic-assisted immersion.

Owing to its mild etching effect on the surface cleaned, the agent may be used as a flash rust stripper. For this purpose, only the Pragolod 33 component otherwise recommended for the surface cleaning and neutralization just after the acid-based surface treatment operations (e.g. pickling) should be used for the preparation of the etching bath.

Pragolod AC 200
liquid agent to cut down undesired release of acid aerosols from the pickling baths with degreasing performance

A liquid agent capable of cutting down undesired release of acid aerosols from the pickling baths. Owing to the surfactants content in the agent, it is of a very good degreasing performance and, together with pickling, there is a possibility of integration of two technological operations (pickling and degreasing) in one bath. It may operate in the pickling baths based on hydrochloric, sulphuric and phosphoric acids, the occupational environment in the pickling shops being improved substantially.

Pragolod AC 202
acid-based corrosion inhibitor for pickling of steel, cast iron and aluminium and its alloys

Pragolod AC 202
acid-based corrosion inhibitor for pickling of steel, cast iron and aluminium and its alloys

Pragolod AC 202 is a liquid pickling inhibitor of steel, cast iron and aluminium and its alloys. It is a blend of pickling inhibitors, non-ionic surfactants and complex-forming substances and should be especially used as an inhibition additive into non-oxidizing inorganic acids-based pickling baths made of hydrochloric, sulphuric or phosphoric acids or, alternatively, of organic acids and their mixtures. The agent is very efficient in the inhibition of ferrous surfaces and aluminium alloys and, to a lesser extent, of zinc and other metals. It strongly impedes the hydrogen embrittlement process of ferrous substrates and makes the surface treated more grained- refined. It should be used in the pickling acids, after prior degreasing process in alkaline, acid or surfactant-based agents, in particular before galvanizing, plating or painting. The inhibition efficiency of Pragolod AC 202, i.e. the reduction of the steel substrate dissolution in its baths, is by 90 – 99% depending on its concentration and composition of the treated steel or cast iron. To accomplish the combined degreasing effect in the inhibited acid pickling baths, the pickling surfactants Pragolod AC 200, Pragolod AC 205 or Pragolod 450 may be added.

Pragolod 930
strong acid degreasing agent for cleaning of ferrous metals before galvanizing

Pragolod 930
strong acid degreasing agent for cleaning of ferrous metals before galvanizing

Pragolod 930 is a liquid strong acid cleaning agent suitable for degreasing of medium-greased ferrous metals before galvanizing and should be applied by immersion in the running bath diluted with water at ambient or enhanced bath temperature. To ensure the quality of the degreasing and thus equivalent replacement of the current alkaline process before galvanizing, the degreaser is a blend of concentrated inorganic acids (phosphoric and hydrochloric acids) together with non-ionic surfactants, corrosion inhibitors and solubilizators. The aim of the degreasing bath combined with a pickling affect is, however, not to remove all scales and rust from the surface treated but rather the substrate pretreatment convenient for subsequent pickling process in inhibited acids with surfactants contained, without the necessity of the intermediate rinse. As a result, the number of containers for the pre-treatment processes before galvanizing, overall consumption of rinse water as well as the demand for the waste water treatment process are being reduced significantly.

Pragolod 960
strongly acid agent for pickling of stainless steels and nickel-based alloys.

Pragolod 960
strongly acid agent for pickling of stainless steels and nickel-based alloys.

The agent is suitable for dissolution and removal of corrosion products and mill scales left on the metallic surface after the welding operations and, besides, is possible to make the surface treated uniform in appearance. Further use consists in cleaning and removal of the ferritic-based contaminants from the stainless steel surface, which otherwise might induce rust spots creation on it and mar its appearance badly.

In case of pickling with the agent, a preliminary degreasing in suitable degreasing baths (Pragolod 57 N, Pragolod 18 etc.) is demanded first.

The agent contains both surfactants and corrosion inhibitors durable against bath oxidative environment, which are able to reduce a high bath surface tension and prevent overpickling of the material treated.
