Pragolod 1009
two-component strongly alkaline agent for removal of residues of old paints or paints of substandard quality

It is a two-component strongly alkaline agent for removal of miscellaneous old paints or paints of substandard quality and varnishes from the ferrous substrates. As a stripping agent, it is suitable for the substrates durable to strongly alkaline environment such as ferrous metals and copper alloys but should be not used for aluminium alloys, zinc, lead or tin. As for the types of organic paints, it performs well for alkyds, acrylates, polyesters, epoxides and other synthetic resins. On the contrary, the agent is less efficient for stripping of the paints based on rubbers, bitumens, asphalts, phenolic resins and some types of epoxides and polyurethanes. The substrate becomes passivated against corrosion after stripping process.

In the paint stripping technology Pragolod 1009, a combination of basic strongly alkaline concentrate Pragolod 1009 together with a mixture of organic solvents and surfactants Pragkokor DT 1009 is employed, the way of application being immersion at recommended concentration and temperature.
